Erin Finnegan, BS
Physical Therapist

Erin Finnegan, PT graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a BS in Zoology and Spanish, and earned her Physical Therapy degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in 1999. She has experience with, and continues to enjoy working with, neurologically- involved patients in a variety of physical therapy settings. While living in San Francisco, she worked at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Finnegan was at Northwestern Memorial Hospital from 2003 until 2006, when she joined the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. She is part of the professional multidisciplinary team dedicated to working with patients and families in Northwestern’s Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center. In addition to evaluating and treating patients in the hospital and clinic, Ms. Finnegan has developed Integrated Exercise for Parkinson’s, a class she teaches at the RIC Center for Health & Fitness. She is a certified instructor of the Joseph Pilates exercise method. She is trained in John Argue’s Parkinson’s Disease and the Art of Moving™. She has also completed continuing education training in Yoga for Physical Therapists. She is enthusiastic about teaching how various forms of exercise can be applied in managing the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.
Ms. Finnegan is fluent in Spanish and assists with community outreach and education for Chicago's Hispanic population. She is a frequent guest speaker at support groups and at educational symposia for patients, caregivers, and fitness and healthcare professionals.
