Meet the Fellows

Meet our current Movement Disorders fellows below, and see where former fellows have gone following their fellowship experience.

Current Fellows

Jacob Yomtoob, MD

Jacob Yomtoob, MD earned his medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed neurology residency at Mass General Brigham at Harvard Medical School. His clinical and academic focuses beyond movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease include special interests in ataxia and Huntington’s disease. Outside of medicine he enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel, bike riding on the Chicago Lakefront Trail, gardening, woodworking, knitting/crocheting, and attending Chicago Bears games.

Lucy Morse, MD

 Lucy Narrow

Lucy Morse, MD earned her medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her neurology residency training at Mass General Brigham. Her areas of interest include deep brain stimulation and focused ultrasound for the treatment of movement disorders including Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, and dystonia. She also has an interest in medical education, developing curricula using simulation and bedside teaching to enhance neurology education for trainees and students. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, exploring different Chicago neighborhoods, and spending time with her husband and young daughter.

Eilrayna Gelyana, MD

Eilrayna Gelyana, MD completed both her medical degree and her neurology residency at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Clinically, she is especially interested in Huntington's disease and atypical parkinsonism. Her research interests include understanding cellular mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease, and she is currently a member of the Krainc lab studying microglial changes in Parkinson's disease. Outside of medicine, she enjoys reading, puzzles, hiking, exploring Chicago's lakefront and parks, and spending time with her community.

Fred Shen, MD, PhD

Fred Narrow

Fred Shen, MD, PhD earned his medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Michigan and completed his neurology residency at Northwestern University. His clinical and academic focus is in movement disorders, with particular interest in genetic disorders and ataxias. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring Chicago’s unique neighborhoods, especially their diverse food, drinks, and activities.

  • 2021: Niccolo Mencacci, MD, PhD, is currently on faculty at Feinberg.
  • 2019: Danielle Larson, MD, is currently on faculty at Feinberg.
  • 2017: Neha Prakash, MD, is assistant professor of Neurology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine (UConn Health).
  • 2016: Yasaman Kianirad, MD, practices in the Department of Neurology at University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health). She is the associate clerkship director for the medical students at UIC College of Medicine.
  • 2015: Mahesh Padmanaban, MD, is on faculty of the University of Chicago as of July 2015.
  • 2014: Danny Bega, MD, MSCI, is assistant professor at Feinberg and is director of the Wilson’s center (one of four nationally) and the Huntington’s Disease clinic at Northwestern Medicine.
  • 2012: Odinachi Oguh, MD, is now director of the MD and surgical program at the University of Florida, Jacksonville.
  • 2011: Roneil Malkani, MD, completed a combined MD and sleep fellowship in 2012; he is currently on faculty at Feinberg and is applying for a K23 grant focused on slow wave sleep in neurodegenerative disorders.
